Exaggerations, Not Accomplishments
Bob Terry has exaggerated his public service record and puts special interests first. Washington County is the economic engine of Oregon and the greatest place to own and operate a small business. Bob Terry wraps himself in the flag of a successful businessman but he does not represent their interests. As part of the current County Commission, led by Andy Duyck, Bob Terry continues to prioritize sub-division developers and tax breaks for out-of-state-corporations. Consider this:
Bob Terry voted to give a sub-division developer a secret $2.3 million loan. In return, developer PACs have donated thousands to his campaign and threw him a fundraiser. Hard to believe that something like that happened, and harder to believe it’s legal.

Complaint Shows Terry may have Lied about His Education and Military ServiceA formal complaint was filed with the Oregon Secretary of State against Bob Terry charging he lied about both his military and education records on the 2010 and 2014 voter pamphlets.
FROM THE COMPLAINT FILED BY PAUL ERICKSON, A HILLSBORO RESIDENT: In his 2010 Voter’s Pamphlet statements, Terry claims to have attended “University of Chicago/Open Studies” in his May 2010 statement and “University of Chicago, Open Studies” in his November 2010 statement. A simple Google search does not reveal the existence of an “open studies” program at the University of Chicago. In his 2014 filing for county office, Terry submits he attended Johnson College and that his last grade completed was “2” – implying he attended Johnson College for 2 years. In addition, Terry submits he took “Continuing Education University of Chicago” in the section “Educational Background (other).” On March 4th Commissioner Terry’s educational background is listed as “Jefferson College in St. Louis, Mo., for two years.” in a Capital Press article. So did Bob Terry forget where he went to school several times over? ALSO FROM THE COMPLAINT: Submitted statements about Commissioner Terry’s military service are both vague and varied. Verification attempts with the US National Archives have been unable to verify Terry’s military service. Along with his varied service claims in his voter pamphlets, the military service dates are inconsistent with Bob Terry's birth date of Jan 18, 1946. If Terry served in the military in 1962, he would have been only 16. Men could only enlist in the Navy at age 17, with parental permission. So did Terry really serve in the military when he was 16? |
Stay tuned because there is so much more where this came from.

This site is sponsored by the Washington County Action PAC and is not affiliated with any specific candidate or campaign. Formed in 2013, the Washington County Action PAC is a nonpartisan group of experienced activists organized to bring balance, integrity, and vision to Washington County leadership starting with the 2014 elections. The PAC's mission is to support candidates and measures that advance healthy and sustainable communities, environmental protections, social and economic justice, and open and responsible governments serving and empowering the people of Washington County. Through his grandiose exaggerations about his past, his history in voting to give tax breaks and taxpayer funded loans to land developers like West Hills Development, and his intolerance of dissent and input from the public, we feel that Washington County Commissioner Bob Terry does not share our values.
